Theory 'Brain ' wAY make Robott

Jakarta - Scientists in Germany managed to find a way to make robots walk like humans. Not just similar, this robot can walk faster than similar robots that already exist.

The robot named Runbot, a two-legged robot that can be small move sejarak long legs three times in one second. This is only slightly slower than human walking speed quickly.

This robot uses the theory of 'brain-knee' was first proposed by Nikolai Bernstein in the 1930s. The theory essentially suggests that the human brain (which is in the head) is not merely to process how to walk.

Brain, Bernstein said, only works when running from one surface to another surface, such as from the floor to the grass, or when the surface is not flat. The rest, the ability to walk is handled by the 'brain' aka the nerves in the spine and legs, including the knee.

By applying the theory, Professor Florentin Woergoetter and the team from the University of Gottingen, Germany, succeeded in making Runbot. Woergoetter team includes scientists from various backgrounds, including Poramate Manoonpong, Tao Geng, Tomas Kulvicius and Bernd Porr.

Not Awkward Robot

We walked to a hill, Woergoetter said, 'brain-knee' Runbot will assume there is no problem. But when the body fell Runbot because the force of gravity pulling it back system 'brains on' Runbot will detect it and make changes.

Furthermore, Woergoetter said, the changes will be applied to the 'brain-knee' that 'the brain of' do not have to keep on doing the process. "The difficulty in robots, is to apply the motion at the right time, in a matter of milliseconds, so as not to fall," he explained.

Runbot has a different way street with a popular robot like Asimo, or the like. "Robots are kinematic walkers, they go step by step and calculate every corner of every millisecond," he explained.

Through the technology of artificial intelligence and robotics engineering, Woergoetter said it was a complex process can be done. "But very awkward. Humans do not walk like that. Large machines were stomping like a robot, we want to make robots that walk like humans, "he said.

Currently the team is thinking about how to apply to make robots Runbot larger. Runbot also be developed in order to react faster and more adaptive.
