Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (文部科学省, Monbukagakusho?), Abbreviated Monkashō or MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), as well as a popular Monbushō is one of government ministries in Japan. The main task of improving education and developing human resources through the dissemination of lifelong learning. In addition, MEXT duty to promote intellectual activities, sports, culture, and development of science and technology, and conduct administrative work related to the field of religion. [1]

MEXT is one of the three ministries that bring native English speakers to participate in the JET Program. In addition, MEXT offering Monbukagakusho Scholarship.


History

Ministry was established January 6, 2001 from the merger of the Ministry of Education (Monbushō) with the Office of Science and Technology (Kagaku Gijutsu-cho). MEXT is led by a cabinet minister selected by the Prime Minister of Japan from the Japanese Parliament, or the ordinary people. First MEXT Minister Nobutaka Machimura is. Currently, the Minister of Education and Science, Japan (Monbukagaku Daijin) named Kisaburō Tokai.
