A. Nuclear Arms Race and the danger
Nuclear arms race between the United States with the Soviet Union have caused great tension among the people of the world. The world community is overwhelmed by fears of outbreak of a devastating nuclear war. A sensitive issue related to both parties or global issues could have dragged them into the arena of open war.

The types of nuclear weapons could reach between countries and between continents. Danger it would cause in the event of war, a very powerful and could endanger the survival of mankind and other living things in the world. For example, when the Chernobyl nuclear reactor exploded on April 26, 1986, disaster that has caused hundreds of people were contaminated with radio active substances,dozens of people died and hundreds of thousands of people were displaced.
During the nuclear arms race, both blocks have been built key centers launch nuclear weapons in all countries under its influence. Meanwhile, the UN felt the need to reduce the increasing nuclear arms race on both sides. The UN then formed Atomic Energy Commission which aims to find ways and means to develop the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes, and to prevent the use for war purposes.
